Existing Conditions

​I come with a complete Existing Conditions Measuring Kit, and can measure buildings by myself. I've developed a system of field notes that works well for me and gets me to within an inch in the initial drafting, and when I've had to hand my notes off to a  studio-mate for drafting I haven't heard complaints.​

Schematic Design

By hand and by computer, I am adept at finessing the layout to fit the zoning requirements, code requirements, client requirements, program, and budget.

Construction Documents

I can produce all the drawings necessary for permits without oversight, once the design has been settled.  I can also produce the requisite details so that change orders during construction will be limited.

Virtual Models

I created the above 3D model in  ArchiCAD, and am confident that I can quickly create, edit, and render models in Revit or VectorWorks as well.

Actual Models

I can make clean and beautiful little white-board and/or wood models. Unfortunately, only terrible photos of some of them have survived.  Both of these are from platform studios at Tulane, circa 1998.

Custom Details
 I have, for certain projects, built (or directly overseen the construction of), and installed  elements.  In the photo above, I created the hanging scrolls from printed art, and finished the lotus blossom that was custom crafted by a local CNC artist.  ​

Contract Administration

I have performed weekly on-site Field Observations and Reports, produced meeting minutes, responded to Submittals, RFIs, and Payment Applications, and have punched out buildings for Substantial Completion.
